Frequently Asked Questions

u

How long does barista training take?

The length of the barista training course can vary depending on the level of expertise you want your baristas to attain. Typically, basic training can last a few hours whereas SCA barista certification training can take up to 2 full days. These barista classes can take place at your coffee shop or right at the Impossible Coffee headquarters.
u

What equipment does barista training cover?

Impossible Coffee’s barista training courses cover the basic operation of espresso machines, coffee grinders, milk frothers, and other standard tools used. Additionally, Impossible Coffee teaches the basics of coffee tasting and palettes to ensure that the drinks prepared are their most delicious. Depending upon the level chosen, coffee training classes also cover the calibration of equipment to ensure the perfect extraction and presentation of espresso shots.

u

What should I bring to my barista training?

You won’t need to bring anything to the training. All necessary materials and equipment will be provided by Impossible Coffee regardless of whether the barista course is taking place at your coffee shop or at the Impossible Coffee headquarters. We do recommend bringing a water bottle to remain hydrated!
u

Should my team be barista certified?

Whether of not your team of baristas should be SCA certified, really depends on the needs and goals of your cafe. If your team regularly serves coffee or espresso-based drinks, having barista certification could improve the quality of the beverages and enhance the overall customer experience.

Additionally, barista training certification can provide valuable knowledge and skills that may benefit your team members in their current roles and future career opportunities in the food and beverage industry.
